JoostBook / JoostConnect Finally Made It Into The Facebook Directory
Boy, that was arduous. But I guess it could have been worse. First, getting the application stable enough to be used by others was a challenge, second, getting Facebook to accept it took quite some time and a few submissions. I suppose it is up to Facebook to enforce quality in the applications in the directory so it makes sense, but they could really improve some things about the authentication in the SDK to make it easier to build quality applications.
Eventually, when I am convinced my server can handle the traffic, I'll probably add some type of application sharing function. I'm sort of torn about implementing it. In some ways I don't like that I feel forced to add an application that a friend sends me. If I don't install it, they constantly ask me about it, if I do and I don't want it, I am in the same predicament. So I'll have to think about that one a little more.
I will add the ability to share a specific watched video with users, but I have to figure out Facebook's content ownership system. It always says that I don't have permission to share the content, even though it is on my profile. I don't get it. I'll have to play around with it more.
